    The problem with using or posting IPs is that they can and do change so posting those publicly ends up being stale information at some point that some people would use only to find that nothing works. That said, let me explain how the pings work. The pings are set from source to destination. It doesn't matter what the destination is so long as it's consistent. The agent is not providing you pings to anything specific or meaningful to the user, it's using those to recognize if ping times are changing. The agent runs a set of pings, averaging those every minute then sending them to the network, mostly used as a visual piece of data showing when events may or did happen. The agent algorithm monitors for changes from what it has last re-calculated as average to x percentage difference. If that difference appears to be higher than average, then this triggers other tests such as a short speed test which can in turn trigger a full speed test if enabled. The point of the service is not to monitor the Internet but the provider so we're just using a target that is beyond the provider as a destination. Now, on the other hand, if you were a business customer with us, and you needed certain custom things specific to your environment, we would work with you for what ever you need because we would be communicating regularly so if we had to make changes and those could affect you, we would have a contact person to reach out to or that would know about the changes. Hope this helps to explain a little better why providing IPs would not work well.

    Hi Marc, The value is intended always for the download speed which is usually higher or equal to upload. Also the percentage, right below, is intended for download only even if the results are including also upload and latency.

    Hi, Our subscriptions use the Paypal service as we prefer not to keep any financial information on our site for better member protection. If you want to cancel, you just log into your account on Paypal, find your subscription using the ID for OutagesIO then cancel any time. Hope this helps.

    Your agent is now in Extended mode so once you get it back online, it should be fine but remember that you canceled your subscription so at the end of the month, it will fall back into Prestaging. At that point, you can renew or just leave it until you want to use it again. Prestaging is when you're getting your agent ready for a subscription. There's no point in purchasing a subscription until your agent is properly communicating. It's a way to make sure people don't waste their time and money buying a sub for an agent that's not correctly communicating yet. It's not really a bug but a logic thing that we thought we solved :).

    If you do not want that agent but installed the software, just uninstall the software. Just keep in mind that a software or hardware agent has it's own reports. They are associated together. Meaning when you create a new software agent for example, you also install the software on the PC you want to monitor from. They are associated. The software is running on your PC, monitoring that local Internet connection and its reports are the agent that you created. BTW, every page has an 'About this page' link which contains helpful information about what ever the page is. Check those out to get some help understanding the features.

    I'm not sure if you've already done this since this post was not updated but the latest version is now; SCRIPT_VERSION="2023-1-26_1050_Phoenix_TZ And you can download it here; https://downloads.echonets.com/scripts/starter.sh Just kill the otm process (as explained above) if it's running, then start over using the new version of the starter. The starter itself will now tell you when there is a new version.

    That seems possible. A future update could add motion sensing so that if the device disconnected from the Internet, a snapshot could be taken or a series.
